Photographing Children Workshop

As a mom of two and a family photographer, I am passionate about capturing family moments! Increasingly my photography clients have been asking me for tips and tricks on how to take better photographs of their own children. It sparked an idea to develop and build a course for parents, empowering parents to take more and better photos of children. All parents with all types of cameras are welcome – cellphones, point-and-shoots and/or DSLR’s!

The course is presented as a half day workshop, hosted at a boutique hotel, jam-packed with practical tips and tricks for parents. In addition to the training the workshop includes a practical shoot where I will assist participants to take photos of a child and provide the opportunity to test out some of the methods shared.

The course content includes:

  • Connecting with your child through the lens

  • Knowing your equipment and settings

  • Switching between your camera and cellphone – when to use which

  • Planning great shots

  • Angles, posing and composition

  • What to avoid when photographing children

  • Managing light and contrast

  • How to handle meltdowns

  • How to get the best out of your child - and capture it

  • Basic editing tips

  • The benefits of photos on child’s self-esteem
